Trey's 4th Birthday

Trey is totatlly obsessed with superheros right now, so when his birthday was coming up it was a no brainer as to what the theme would be....Super heros of course.

In order to pull off  a great part you need an amazing cake and lucky for me I have a friend who is capable to creating such greatness...April thank you so much for Trey's cake it was amazing! Not only was it a work of art but it tasted great too!
That Morning Junior had to run over to Provo to pick up our "Special Guests" costume so I was on my own for the set up. It was not long before I gave my friend Lindsay a call to come and help...like a good friend she ran right over and together we were able to pull off all the decor needed for these little superheros to have a good time.
The present, cake, and party favor table.
I wish I would have gotten a better picture of the birthday boy by the backdrop but this is unfortunatel the best one, for some reason my camera was having a hard time focusing...time for a new one Junior (wink, wink). THE BACKDROP- my dad was able to get me these really long pieces of cardboard, so I jumped on pinterest (Suprised?) and found a Gothem city to copy a few nights of tracing, cutting, spraying, and adding the windows and bam we had ourselves a city fit for batman. The banner I made with scrapbooking paper and a comic book I had lying around that Trey was not interested in.
When the kids came in we had a craft table set up where they could decorate their own superhero masks. We had stickers, markers, bling, and of course thunderbolts and Lindsay, Jacob and I cut out by hand from foam...It took forever! I made the masks from foam squares, and my friend Ruachel gave me the  pattern  to trace, added some eyelets and elastic and we were in the superhero business.
We certainly could not have a superhero party without the capes of course. So my wonderful husband made the first set of capes and we just followed the pattern that he made. There were 5 different colors to choose from. My brother in law Dave was able to score me some sticker paper that I was able to cut big circles out of with my cricut and put on the back of the capes so that our little super hero friends could make their own decals. We got some creative artists in this group.
Here is a picture of the decor that I dragged poor Lindsay and then Jacob over to help me finish. I was happy with the way it all turned out.
One of the games that we had at the party was "Fishing for Superheros" I grabbed some little action figures from walmart put a metal paper clip on them and they were ready to be fished out of the water with the magnetic fishing pole. In the picture there are the tools that we used for a different game and not the superheros, I should have know that the kids would be drawn to the water right when they came in so I just threw some things in it that they could play with for a little while. The shower curtain worked wonders in keeping the carpet dry.
Look how cute the kids are running around like superheros. And in the back you can see the creative genius herself (April)  who made Trey's cake. The kids seriously were so cute all running around, In the beginning I was going to have our special guest (Spider Man) aka (Jacob my brother) run around with the kids and have them help him capture the villian (Christian my other brother) Christian even had worn a black mask and black clothes just for the occasion but we just never seemed to get around to it....Next time because looking back I bet the kids would have loved it!
There are some of the kids getting creative with their masks and Decals.
Aden's favorite thing was definitely the balloons. He seemed to always have one in his hand, back then he did not seem too into Superheros but that has all changed. Trey has definitely converted him, he know all of their names; Captain America, Hulk, but Iron Man, Spider Man, and Batman are all Iron Man.
Thank you Junior for all you help in making our sons birthday the best one yet! I could not have done it without all the man power behind the scenes :)
There is Trey's little friend Leila, she gives him lots of practice saving the damsel in distress. When they are outside playing, she will be riding her bike and right when she see's Trey she will fall off and wait for Trey to go save her...Cutest thing ever!!!!
Another activity that we had was two cubes of ice and inside were some Superheros that Mr. Freeze froze inside the ice. It was our Super Squad's job to save those superheros a job they all took very seriously.
It was so cute how each one took a turn at it then passed the torch on to someone else, it was quite the picture of team work.

After a lot of pouding and pulling we finally broke out the water.
Batman was out in no time, the birthday boy was thrilled that he was the one that got to pull him out even though all of the other kids aided in the dream to be possible.

Then the guest of honor appeared! It was cute because one of Trey's friends (Jack) was also wearing a spiderman costume so we had two spidermans. My brother Jacob who recently got off his mission from Ohio use to do Drama in High School and on top of that he learned on the "Mish" how to do balloon animal...he was the perfect guy for the job.
All the kids were super interested in him, one girl (Rebecca made her dad go with her to see him up close) it was so cute. Some kids were very sociable with him and others were contant just watching. But all of them wanted a ballon animal. I thought our bike pump would fill up the balloons but it did not work so poor Jacob seemed like he was going to pass out with the high demand of balloon animals so some of us adults tried to help blow them up...hardest thing ever and No I did not succeed in helping.

But lucky for Jack the food came and it was a good break for him. We had Pizza, chips and salsa, and drinks.
Another picture of the backdrop and banner
And there were his invites. We hope you had a wonderful 4th birthday Trey! Mommy and Daddy love you. A huge shout out to all those who helped us make it possible THANK YOU!!!
