Some of my Favorite Things

Trey and Aden are definitely a lot of work but they are also two of my favorite things. It has been quite odd weather here, it will snow and only last a few hours but then be super cold outside. So thanks to Pinterest we have been doing different activities inside to keep busy. This was one of Aden and Trey's favorite things to do, I got one of Treys bins from his room and filled it full of snow. Then I grabbed some bottles from the fridge that were almost empty like a ketchup bottle and filled them full of colored water. They had so much fun pouring the colored water in the snow. At first Aden was just content watching Trey, but after he observed how it was done he wanted to get in on all the action. Trey is so good about helping his little brother, at times he gets very frustrated with Aden because Aden is not doing it the way Trey believes things should be done; But after I remind him that Aden is still little and does not understand Trey gets a little more patient.

Aden is such a little firecracker. He has such a fun personality and keeps us laughing, today he was whining to I came to see what it was about and when he saw that he got my attention he smiled and started whining even more...little stinker. Trey is so strong willed and is totally convinced that he is right at all times. I need to remember that this is a good quality and not to get into power struggles with him, he is such a delightful boy and when I show respect for his opinions he does much better. 

Slime! Can I just tell you how much fun we had with this stuff, thanks again to Pinterest. In order to make it all you use is, food coloring, cornstarch, and water! WE and I mean Trey and I played with it for hours, it is such an interesting concoction. When you push it, it is hard like clay but when you lift it up it slips through your fingers. Trey thought it was wonderful. Trey kept wanting Aden to play with it as well but every time Aden would touch it he would pull away really fast and wipe his hands off. I feel bad for my little Trey, he may be a little OCD ever time he would get the slime on the table he would panic a little and say "Is it okay if I get it on the table" after a few times of my reassuring him that it is certainly okay he went a little crazy and got it all over the table. Trey loves Aden and wants to involve him in everything. He is the first one to greet Aden when he hears him wake up, no matter what Trey is doing when he hears Aden call for us he runs in and gives him whatever toy he is playing with at the time (even if he is not done playing with it). One morning Trey had been playing with his dice (and yes like the dice you play boardgames with-he is obsessed) when he heard Aden he ran in and gave Aden his dice. Aden was thrilled because Trey never lets him play with his dice...that was then the case after a few minutes of Aden holding the dice, needless to say Aden threw a huge fit.

Aden and Trey's night routine is super sweet, When it is time to go to bed I will usually take Aden and put him to bed and Junior will put Trey to bed. When I say "Okay Aden it is night, night time" Aden will run over to Junior and give him hugs and kisses and then run over to Trey and give him hugs and kisses while Trey accepts them with hugs and kisses right back.

The Mummy. For some reason we were talking about Egypt and mummies, well Junior grabs Trey and runs into our bedroom and soon after a mummy was walking around the house. It only lasted a little while before all the walking and Aden broke the toilet paper off of him.

Lego's have also been a huge boredom buster for Trey and Junior. It was so funny Aden and I went to church while Junior stayed home with sick little Trey and when we came home there was Junior building and Trey just watching (I guess Lego's like Slime is fun for all ages :-) Trey loves getting them out, he will build and rebuild he absolutely loves them. He calls them transformers, which is pretty accurate since they can transform into just about anything.

This is one of the MANY masterpieces that Junior created, I will tell you what that guy can build! Trey has created many masterpieces as well I unfortunately have not gotten a picture of one yet.

My little Aden is obsessed with shoes! He loves them, he will bring Junior his shoes after Junior just takes them off. Right when he wakes up in the morning he runs and grabs Trey's shoes and tries to put them on, when figures out they are Treys he takes them over to Trey and proceeds to look for his. I continually have to keep putting my shoes away because the little stinker pulls them all off the shelf. Yes that cute little face can cause havoc in the world of shoes. He also loves Junior and Trey's Nerf guns. He will bring them to me without any darts and wait so excitedly to see the darts come out....I really need to buy some more so he wont have to keep being disappointing when I shoot it and nothing comes out. Before all the darts were lost Junior would shoot them and Aden would fetch them and bring them back to Junior to shoot again...He seriously loved it.

Trey is so funny, he is already asking me if girls like him. He will ask me "Who am I going to marry after I get off my mission?" He has a little friend named Leila, they were talking in his bedroom and I heard him say "It's okay little princess". He is already saying all the right things lol. He is also quite the trickster, one night Junior asked Trey to get his phone for him; I saw Trey get a sly smile on his face and brought Junior a card and said "Here is your phone daddy" Junior smiled at Trey and proceeded to act like he was dialing someone and then seemed surprised that it was not in fact his phone...They carried on this charade of Trey bringing different objects to Junior and Junior talking on the object and then exclaiming that it was not his phone, and Trey must have tricked him until he had both Aden and Trey rolling with laughter...these three boys sure make life fun:-)
