Before I start my usual journal of all the events that go on in my usual day to day life, I want to share a testimony building event that happened to me today. My good friend Christa's father past away April 1 and I had the opportunity to attend his funeral today. Roy Vellinga was my softball coach for many many years, I believe that is the reason Christa and I became such good friends. I was so impressed with the funeral services and all the wonderful memories that his children and brother shared about him. They shared how strong his testimony was and how he would share his testimony with everyone he came in contact with through his Christ like behavior. Every time I saw Roy he always had a smile on his face and offered a kind word. I could not believe how many people were at the service and it really had an impact on me at the fact that one man can touch so many people's lives. As I was sitting there listening to the beautiful words it made me want to be a better person. His children shared all the fond memories they had of spending time with him. They stated many times of how Roy no matter how busy he was or how long he had worked he would always make the time for each one of them. It made me look into my own life and wonder if I am the kind of parent that one day my children will say that I was always patient and no matter what, I would make the time for them. Thank you Roy for your wonderful example in my life!So our new, happy, little purchase is our....wait for it.....double stroller! YaY! I do feel like I am driving around a bus but it is so nice to have. Trey was so funny, he loves everything new. He had to get right in it to try it out. So if I make him food and he walks away from it, he wont eat it because it is "old". You must be kidding me, he did not want one of his toys because it was old. Now this is the best yesterday he was mad that I was sending him to his room so he said mom you are a "Monster"...please give me patience.
There is my little sweetheart. He learned to put his feet up on the bouncer, after he learned how to do it he does it all the time now. April first he got his first tooth. it was his upper right, then on April 4th he got his second and he rolled over! I am so proud of him, he is 5 months old. He then got his third tooth on April 6th, it is not one of the front ones but on the side of the front. Now that he can roll over he is unstoppable!
Ahh look at that cute little face! Look at his little feet on the bouncer. He loves attention and getting kisses. As long as he has me insight he is quite happy!
I think that Grandpa has a soft spot for that grand-baby! He sure gives grandpa lots of smiles! Can I just say how wonderful my dad is, he has spent countless hours singing and holding my sibilings and I. Now he enjoys holding and singing to his grand children. He is such an amazing person and I am so blessed to have him as a dad
Trey absolutely loves his little brother! He always wants him to "Lay on me" and Aden thinks Trey is so funny. He will just sit and laugh at him. While I was driving somewhere I hear Trey going off on some tangent and Aden was just laughing and laughing it was the cutest thing ever!
Look at that smile, he sure loves baby brother. While I am cooking dinner I usually put Aden in the swing, bouncer, or let him roll around on the floor and Trey is really good at giving him different toys to play with when he starts fussing.
Trey is a good tiger, he goes around the house on all fours roaring like a tiger, or lion which ever he is at the moment. Sometimes when he growls, however, it scares Aden and he starts crying.
So Trey was busy playing in his room and Aden had just fallen asleep so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to jump in the shower. While I was in the shower Trey come in saying something about how he put the eggs in the fridge. So like a good mother I said "Good job" and finished my shower. Well after I get out and get dressed I check on Trey happily playing in his room; check on Aden still sleeping. Go into the kitchen to make the cookies I had promised Trey (Trey is a little cookie monster he loves his cookies) and this is what I find. Needless to say I did not make cookies!
The eggs were cracked on the floor and the carton was put back into the fridge. I could not believe it! I heard stories of this happening before but never with my children. Well here is the evidence, it can happen even to the most adorable, well behaved, sweet, inocent, of children :-).
Trey being a lion, or tiger and Aden just watching.
Junior sure like to take time with both of his boys and when Aden gets Daddies full attention he sure eats it up. Aden thinks Junior is wonderful. He will just stare at Junior until he looks then he gives him the biggest smile, Junior can't help but pick him up!
We enjoy Aden so much, he is such a fun loving little guy. He is always wanting to laugh and smile. We never tire of talking to him, hugging him, kissing him, tickeling him, well you get the point he is just wonderful!
Little Elija came over and so we thought we would get some pictures of them next to eachother. Aden is two months older than Elija. I'm pretty sure Elija weighs more than Aden. Aden is quite chubby but next to his cousin he looks malnurished :-)
How cute are babies I love them! I guess I will have to have four more....or wait a minute...
So Rachell asked Andrea and I to watch her two children. This particular day was my laundry day and Elaine and I decided to take the children swimming before Rachell got there. So I was quite unorganized and with my two kids, Andrea's one, Elaine's one, and Rachell's two and the mountain of laundry I felt like we had quite the daycare going.
Just had to monument the craziness of that day!
Your blog is so cute! I love seeing and reading about all your fun family times. You guys are way fun. I'm glad that we have gotten to know you all :)
